All the hard drives in the world

Was wondering if anyone knew how much storage does the world collectively have? I mean if you were to use every last hard drive of this planet to store data, how much would it be able to hold?

Any guesses?

  1. It has to be a lot more than that. I have 1 GB of RAM on my laptop. So let’s say there are 1 billion people who have computers with an average of 50 GB of storage (taking into account laptops, old machines etc). So it would be 1000000000 * 50 GB = 50000000000 GB.

    So 50000000000 * 1000000000 (1 GB) = 50 Exabytes
